Leadership Is In Your Future

The Foundation for Educational Administration (FEA) has expanded its NJ EXCEL (EXpedited Certification for Educational Leadership) Program, a state-approved non-traditional program leading to certification for supervisor, principal, school administrator, and director of school counseling services in lieu of traditional graduate studies in educational administration. Eligibility for NJ EXCEL includes a minimum of a master’s degree in a field related to education and four years of full-time experience as a teacher and/or educational specialist.

Please be aware that Legal One workshops will be held here at NJPSA/FEA on the following dates:

June 25:    Modules 3 & 4

June 26:    Modules 1 & 2

June 27:    Modules 3 & 4

NJ EXCEL Models

All NJ EXCEL Models are recommended for graduate credit by the American Council on Education (ACE).

NJ EXCEL Model #1
For practicing supervisors with 4+ years of supervisory experience — Required instructional seminars plus minimum 300 hours of field-based experiences, projects, and internships (12 months tuition = $7,800.00 - not including books)
Certifications: Principal, Director of School Counseling Services*
NJ EXCEL Model #2
For teachers and educational specialists with supervisor certification and practicing supervisors with less than 4 years of supervisory experience — Required instructional seminars plus minimum 300 hours of field-based experiences, projects, and internships (12-15 months tuition = $8,800.00 - not including books)
Certifications: Supervisor, Principal, Director of School Counseling Services*
NJ EXCEL Model #3
For teachers and educational specialists with at least 4 years of full-time educational experience — Required instructional seminars plus minimum 300 hours of field-based experiences, projects, and internships (18 months Tuition = $11,300.00 - not including books)
Certifications: Supervisor, Principal, Director of School Counseling Services*
NJ EXCEL Model #4
For individuals who have completed or are enrolled in a State-approved post-graduate program in educational leadership, and/or hold a Certificate of Eligibility for Principal or Standard Principal Certification — Field-based experiences including a 150-hour school administrator internship (6-12 months Tuition = $3,000)
Certifications: School Administrator Certification

* NOTE: Eligibility for Director of School Counseling Services certification requires 3 years of fulltime guidance counselor experience

NJ EXCEL is offered at southern, northern, and central New Jersey sites:  South - Highland High School (Camden County), North - Parsippany Troy
Hills (Morris County) and Central - NJPSA, Monroe Township (Middlesex County).
